JACKSON PREPARES TO BREAKOUT SEASON AT HCU
HOUSTON, TX - Entering his third year at Houston Christian University, Jackson is preparing to make this a year to remember.
Jackson will play under his 3rd head coach entering the 2024- 2025 season. Coach Jason Bachtel is the new head coach at HCU, and was an assistant coach last season. Jackson says that he and COACH are familiar with each other, and he is looking forward to being a part of the teams offensive weapons.
Jackson has performed at the top of the efficiency charts for a wide receivers on the team. He has proven in practice day in and day out that he is one of the most reliable wide receivers on the team.
“The redshirt year definitely helped me, and I learned so much working with all of the other coaches that have rotated through,” Jackson White said. “I have matured, my body has gotten stronger, and I’m ready to go out on the field and make a difference this season. “
HCU will open the 2024 Season on the road in Dallas as they play against Southern Methodist University on August 31, 2024.
“This is the year where all of my hard work over the past years will be noticed. With good health, my performances should speak for themselves. “

Jackson Prepares For First Spring Training
After completing his first semester in college with a 4.0 GPA, Jackson White is preparing to go through his first spring training with the Houston Christian University Football Team.
Jackson enjoyed learning during his freshman season, suiting up with the team for two games in the regular season. He said the practices were very important in his developing and being able to help the team win games this year
Jackson said he has enjoyed working with the new coaching staff, and he is enjoying the rigorous workouts every morning to get the team ready. He said he is looking forward to being a big part of the team's success this season.
“I feel like I needed to go through everything and learn as much as I did during the first-year practices and games,” said Jackson. “Now, I think that year of hard work and learning has put me in a position to really help this team.”
Jackson attributes a lot of his off-season skill development to his personal coach, Patrick Barriere, or Performance Houston. He and coach Barriere meet several times through the week to work on foot work, explosion, and other key techniques of top receivers.
“ Jackson works hard, he’s very focused, and he wants to be the best” said Barriere. “I like working with him because he listens, he works hard to get it right, and with kids like that you know the sky is the limit.”
Jackson plans to enjoy a short spring break in Miami Florida, and return to Houston ready to go to work. The Houston Christian official spring game is on April 15, 2023

Jackson Starts Class/ Begin College Practice
Jackson white officially became a college student in early June 2022 when he began taking summer school courses at Houston Baptist University. As a requirement to join the football team in off-season conditioning and training, Jackson enrolled in the necessary hours to get his College Football Career underway.
Jackson is listed as Jersey number 82 on the Houston Baptist University Huskies Football website. He will continue to play wide receiver, and has worked hard every day in the practices to earn a spot in the rotation.
“This has been really exciting for me, “said Jackson. “It was a dream to be a division one football player, and now to have the opportunity it’s like a dream come true. I am just enjoying each day as it comes.”
The HBU Huskies will open up
On the road against Northern Colorado on September 3. Until then, Jackson is continuing to adjust to life as a college athlete.
“It’s an all day schedule, but I’ve been adjusting to it, “ said Jackson. “It’s been great to work with the coaches and learn, so I am very patient with all of this and not putting any unnecessary pressure on myself.”

“Jackson Receives Multiple College Admissions/Academic Scholarships “
January 16, 2022 —. Entering the final semester of his senior year of high school, Jackson continues to receive college admission letters from just about every school where he has applied.
A National Honor Society scholastic achiever, Jackson maintained a 3.9 GPA throughout high school, Which has earned him some form of merit scholarship from most of the universities that have accepted him.
“I worked just as hard in the classroom as I did before my sports teams,” said Jackson. “I know college academics will require even more focus, so I’m ready for that challenge as well.”
Jackson has been accepted to Middle Tennessee State, Notre Dame College, University of North Texas, Appalachian State, Houston Baptist University, Abilene Christian University, UNLV, Southern Nazarene University, and Midwestern State University. Jackson will make a final decision around March/April 2022.
“There are so many players in the transfer portal, and a lot of coaches have changed jobs during the off-season, so I need to continue to see what is going to be the best fit for me,” Jackson said. “Right now I’m

Jackson White Continued the process or selecting the right college program to continue his football career with a visit to the University of North Texas in Denton Texas. He made it in town to catch the mean greens last home game against the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners.
Jackson had the opportunity to check out the practice facilities, and watch the game as North Texas upset UTSA and ended their run at a perfect season.
Prior to the game, Jackson had the opportunity to talk with associate head coach/wide receivers coach Tommy Mainord, running backs coach Patrick Cobbs, and several other recruiting coordinators for UNT.
“It was good to talk to the coaches, check the facilities out, and make the pregame observations that I get a chance to, “Jackson said. “North Texas is a solid program, makes it to a lot of bowl games, and I would definitely like to be a part of helping teams reach championship level goals like that.”

LAMAR TEXANS SEASON ENDS/JACKSON STARTS COLLEGE VISITS
The Lamar Texans season came to a close as they lost the first round playoff game to Cy Fair. The tough loss brought an end to Jackson Whites high school football career
Jackson Was ranked the number seven wide receiver in Texas private schools after catching 36 passes for 486 yards, 23 first downs, and one touchdown during his sophomore season at Saint Pius X In Houston.
Opting to transfer to a larger Texas 6A school for his final two high school seasons, Jackson enjoyed more wins with his team at Houston Lamar, but far less targets and personal production.
As a junior, Jackson caught 18 passes and one TD, earning him Honorable mention in a Texas 6A category. His senior season, Jackson caught 6 passes, Scoring a touchdown on a season long 21 yard reception in a game versus Westside.
“I would have loved for us to win this season keep going, but that’s not how it worked out, “said Jackson. “I have no regrets about my preparation for games And the effort that I give on the field every time. “
Although his senior season was a career low in targets in catches for Jackson, he either scored or made first downs on 50% of his touches. Jackson said it’s all a part of his growth process, and he is ready to move forward.
“ I haven’t been stopped yet. No CB/DB out there can say they’ve Stopped me in any game or camp yet,” said Jackson. “I run my routes; I block my man, and if they throw the ball to me, I don’t drop it. I do my job and I know I’m a very valuable asset to my team at all times. “
Jackson started Exploring college options for next year, starting with a visit to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro Tennessee. He attended the MTSU game versus Old Dominion, toured the campus, and spent some time on the sidelines with the MTSU team before the game.
“It was a good visit, “Jackson said. “I enjoy talking to some of the players and hearing what they have to say about the program. MTSU is certainly an option as I keep looking for the best fit for my future.”
Jackson plans 2-3 More college visits before the end of the year prior to making the final decision.
“I appreciate all of my high school coaches from both of my high schools,” Jackson said. “But it’s time to take it to the next level, and I’m ready to step up my game.”

LAMAR BEATS WESTSIDE/ JACKSON SCORES TD
The Lamar Texans beat the Westside Wolves 🐺 49 to 0 at Delmar Stadium on Saturday night. The game marked the first time Jackson White scored a touchdown this season.
With the team up 13 to 0 in the first quarter, the team called a short pass route forJackson, And with a couple of important blocks from teammates, he was able to run in a 21 yard touchdown reception.
“It felt good to get the ball in the end zone,” Jackson said. “I was glad to get a couple of touches early, And those blocks from my teammates really helped me. I’m glad I could contribute to our lead so early.”
The 21 yard pass play was Jackson’s longest play from scrimmage this year so far in his games played. The touchdown also means that Jackson has scored on 20% of his touches this season.
“It’s important to me to be efficient because I know that we have a lot of talented players who deserve touches too ,” Jackson said. “If I get a pass, I’m not going to drop it if it’s catchable, and I guarantee I’m going to turn it into a place somehow. If I don’t get the pass, I’m going to find someone and drive them into the ground.”
Jackson also caught another pass 8 yards in the first quarter, and provided a spring block that led to a touchdown on a running play. With the team having such a large lead, Jackson did not play in the second half as the coach rotated other players.
“I understand this is a long process if I want to have a career in football. I don’t need to play every single down in order to help my team effective and win,” Jackson said. “My goal is to take care of my body, learn as much as I can, and be ready to impact every play when I’m on the field.”
The Lamar Texans will close out the district play against the Heights Bulldogs on Friday, October 29 at 7 PM at Delmar Stadium and Houston Texas. The Heights upset the Texans last year in the district championship game, so Jackson knows it’s a rivalry for the team.
“I sat out last year’s game with a hamstring injury, and I know I could have helped us win the game,”. Jackson said. “I am preparing all week to take that game personal and go out on a high note to close out the district.”

LAMAR FLIES PAST CARDINALS 51-7
The Lamar Texans Continued their winning ways by beating district opponent Bellaire by a score of 51-7.
The team ran a total of 26 plays, 11 of which were pass plays. The Texans quarterback completed seven passes to four different receivers.
Jackson White was targeted on one pass play, a slant route early in the second quarter. There was a pass interference on the play but it was not called, and Jackson was not targeted on any other plays.
“Again, Our ground game is very good, and the other teams are having a hard time stopping us,” said White. “26 offensive plays in the game doesn’t give a lot of opportunities to spread the around, so I do what the team needs.”
After catching 35 passes in 7 games as a sophomore at TAPPS St Pius X before transferring to Lamar, Jackson continues to adjust to the run game focus.
“My personal stats are down, but my team is winning,” said White. “I’m a starter. I’m a winner. And no player has stopped me yet 1-on-1 when I’m targeted. I’m always ready”

The Lamar Texans beat the Sam Houston Tigers 49-6 and improved their record to 3-2. Lamar’s ground game was unstoppable, scoring touchdowns on the first 3 rushing plays from the line of scrimmage.
Sam Houston had no answer for the ground game. The score was 21-0 before the QB could even attempt a pass.
Jackson White was targeted twice and caught one pass for an 8 yard gain. The catch was a short route with blockers in front, and Jackson managed to squeeze 8 yards out of it.
“I probably could have made a cut another way and got some more yardage’” Jackson said. “I haven’t gotten many touches this season, so I’m still getting my game-time timing down when it comes to making my moves.”

LAMAR BEATS CONROE - JACKSON CONTINUES TO IMPACT
The Lamar Texans posted their second win of the year by defeating Conroe 43-21. The win improved the Lamar Texans record to 2-2 on the season.
Jackson White continued to make a difference for the team by being physical and aggressive.
With the coaching staff electing to run the ball 38 times, Jackson remained enthusiastic about making sure no tackles were made on the ball by his blocking assignments.
“This is all a part of approaching what I do like a professional,” Jackson said. “The best players in sports are always ready to contribute to the team in whatever way the coaching staff needs.”
Jackson was targeted on two passing plays, and he was able to bring in one 10 yard pass that led to a first down. It was 1 of the 13 passes completed by the Texans offense against Conroe.
“I am always going to be ready to help,” Jackson said. “I will either be making the best blocks on the field, or I will be making the best catches on the field. Either way, I will always be found giving it my best and adding value to the team.”
The Lamar Texans will face the Sam Houston Tigers on Thursday night, September 23, 730 at Delmar stadium

Jackson celebrated his 18th birthday by having an impactful game for the Lamar Texans In their first win of the 2021-2022 season.
In a game where the Lamar Texans Completed only four passes out of 11 attempts, the Texans were able to beat Beaumont West Brook 42-18.
“As a wide receiver, I know it’s important to stay engaged in the game by blocking,” Jackson said. “I’m just focused on my blocking assignments and opening doors for my teammates when I’m not getting the ball. “
Jackson was targeted on to incomplete passes and the game, but he was also responsible for two blocks that led to rushing touchdowns for his teammates. On both plays, Jackson can be seen in the video aggressively driving his man out of position to make a play on the ball carrier.
“It’s all about helping the team win,” Jackson said. “I am always aware that there is more than one way to make a play than just by having the ball. The main goal is to win.”
